Owens hasn't been THAT much of a cancer in Dallas. As a Rams fan (shut up) I'd take him in a heart beat. I don't think we have the cap room w/o trading Holt.... and I'm not in favor of that.

Holt asked for his release...so maybe Rams? I hear the rumor is that nobody wants Owens besides the Raiders.

Yeah I read that today. He's still under contract, and he wants to play for Carolina to finish out his career. I think they'll either trade him to the Panthers or keep him. I don't think they'll just dump him, he has alot of value.

JZ, first of all you need a QB, otherwise he's useless to the Bears! :whip:

Yeah I heard the news, I am glad hes gone, I dont give crap how good of a player he is, hes a distraction and teams win championships not players. I am still pissed at Jones for getting rid of Jimmy Johnson. Been a downhill spiral every since.

Very true. TO won't play somewhere they don't have a really good QB and right now we just don't fit that bill. So we'll just stick with our has-beens and never-will-be's and rely on our defense as usual.

But before the Bears can let us down this fall, we have a full summer of Cubs baseball to look forward to.

Vick will go to Cinci.. He'll fit right in. ;)
What I think is pretty funny is that T.O. is shocked and torn about it.

He should be, honestly, everything around T.O. this year was blown way out of proportion. I can guarentee that the same things he is being called a cancer for have been said by just about any/every other reciever in the league. He didn't kill that team this season, injuries, bad offensive coaching, and Jerry Jones butting into everything killed that team.

I am enjoying hearing people talking about his "performance fading". He had over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns last year, when several of those games he didn't have a quarterback.

I am a huge Dallas fan and hate the idea, Roy Williams will never fill his shoes and that offense (what really saved that team for the past three seasons) is gonna be pretty crappy. I am already predicting a 7-9 season next year at best.

And finally, how is it that people get on T.O's case so bad when you have guys like Marshawn Lynch who was in a hit and run followed by being busted in a car with weed and illegal guns. Lance Briggs, wrecking his car and fleeing the scene, Chris Henry, Josh Reed, ect... guys that are actually committing crimes but yet they don't get called nearly half of what T.O's is.... its pretty sad.

Yea, he goes to those type of teams and tears down the QB because it's all about him. Everywhere he's been he ends up bad mouthing the QB and causes deisention in the lockeroom. Just keep him out of Washington, we don't have a good QB anyway, and for the record neither did Phila with McNabb, another premadona. That pair up was certain for trouble with them 2 egos.

Okay, and that is somehow worse than the crimes that these others have committed and/or got off the hook for:confused: I think its a little crazy to flame this guy as bad as people do for running his mouth when you have other guys who are involved in hit and runs, gun charges, shootings, drugs, ect.. and they never get any heat. That is sad.... really really sad.

Every single wide reciever in the league is about getting the ball for himself, thats the nature of the position. The thing is that when it comes to T.O. this is brought out into the media and blown up to the point where it actually becomes a problem. Is he perfect, heck no, but he is a guy that works harder than any other wide reciever in the league today, he is a guy that will give everything he has got every Sunday, and he is a guy that when given a chance will put up huge numbers for his team. His attitude draws the media in as they can turn him into the guy that everybody loves to hate, he is their "big story", the guy that they can get ratings from, but that doesn't mean he deserves to be called a "cancer" and be be-littled as bad as he his. He is a loudmouth, so what, there have been plenty of them in the past and there will be plenty of them in the future.

This wouldn't happen to be the same Steve Smith that has twice punched fellow players in the face during training camp, would it?

Frankly, there's a lot left to be desired with some of the players in the NFL. I don't like TO, he's cocky, arrogant, selfish, but he is one heck of receiver. Ray Lewis in murder trials, Michael Vick fighting dogs, Burris shooting himself in a club, Chad Johnson (well, he's just psycho), cocky selfish players like Boldin, etc. It's why I LOVE college football, and just LIKE pro football :D

The fact that he is loud and will be vocal when things aren't going good. Watch any other team, players are screaming on the bench, the thing is that they don't have to worry about the media running with it and making it headline news. If Ray Lewis was filmed on the sidelines screaming at his teammates the media would turn it into "Rays trying to motivate his team", but with T.O. it instantly turns into "him causing drama".

Yea, Steve Smith is a stand up guy... breaking your own teammates nose, thats nothing, glad he hasn't mentioned that he thinks his offense has went flat... the guy would have to be taken out into the streets and stoned for that :d
