I put up my camera last week. Threw down 20lbs of corn. Got it today with 500 pictures on it. I was so excited......the I came to find about 30 crows and 8 turkeys....oh yeah...and ZERO deer.

Put Monster Raxx down, believe me you will have hundreds of deer pics. I had a similar scenario a couple years ago, then put down minerals. HUGE Difference!!!

Mineral and salt blocks seem to work best this time of year. I have a camera on a salt block and i get nothing but bucks visiting it. Corn seems to work best when there isn't much food, like from November on thru the winter.

Salt blocks work great as an attractant but if you have any interest in the health of your deer you will use a quality mineral instead :)

I didn't have a camera out on this spot but, they went through 40lb of corn in a little over a week. I have a camera out now with no corn. I havent had time to go get any. I feel they will still be on camera though. There is a trail there that I found last season.

I have a question for you though. Did you put it near a known trail? I don't have much experience with cameras. Only about a week to be honest but, I do know you have to put corn or any attractant/food near a trail or it will take a while for them to find it. I put out corn in the midle of a field last year not knowing if they were there or not. They found it but, it took almost a month later. Once they found it, it was on. 100lb worth in 2 weeks. I did this in another area where I saw one set of tracks and no other signs. Same thing a week after season was over they finally found it.

Good thing is you know where the turkeys may be come turkey season.

Next spring try to create some mineral stations to put your cameras over during the summer months. I rarely put out any corn and just there have been a couple times this summer where my 2 gb memory card was full within 3 or 4 days of clearing the pics.

There is an opening where I would see deer funnel through last season so I took a stab at where I thought it was and apparently I was wrong. I think I know where I will put it next time though. As far as the turkeys, I will make sure I keep them monitored so, like you said, when turkey season comes I can take a poke at em.

My grandfather started feeding deer out of old cow trough out back. I KNOW deer visit this trough (tracks like crazy).
So I decided to toss some corn and a camera on it... 400 pictures, hell yeah!!! ... of a raccoon laying in the trough for 6 hours.
    He was huge however.

Had that happen with coons and squirrels before. Also, I believe it was the first time I ever put corn down for a camera I had around 500 pics and it was of the same 3 deer in one day. They hung out in front of the camera for about 5-6 hours. They killed the batteries.

Set a #1.75 Oneida Victor leg hold trap for that coyote that decided to mark his territory. Your hunting will increase with less predator pressure. Our spots in Wisconsin are in serious need of some predator control.

I have 40lbs of corn so I think i am going to mix that syrup stuff in about 10 lbs of it, throw it out, and toss a mineral block with it. also I am going to do it deeper into the woods, not on the edge of a field.
