recently, i have noticed that all of my friends but me are bow hunters. I started shooting with them and really like it. I am now looking for my bow. My two choices are the bear charge rth or the pse stinger rth from hunters friend(the package with case and arrows), which one should i go with? my budget is $500. Thanks for your help!

    Welcome.

Have you had a chance to get either bow in your hands? I'm a BEAR man myself but it really comes down to which bow feels right in your hands. There should be some deals on bows out there. I would check ebay. For $500 you should be able to get a decent bow. If my memory serves me right, I picked up a BEAR strike for my Dad and set it up with an ultra rest, new stabilizer, peep, and sight for around $600. Let us know how things work out for you. Best wishes.

Go with the one that feels best. Also keep in mind that this is the time of year that a lot of guys are buying the newest 2011 bows and are looking to sell their used gear. It's a good time to get a great deal on a lightly used top of the line model.

I think buying used when starting out can be a good idea also.

buying used is a great way to go if your just starting out. my personal opinion is that the bow finds you. that bow has to be comfortable in every aspect.

Yeah, I would go used. The type of bow you can get used for $500 is going to be a LOT nicer than what you'll get for $500 new in most cases. Like someone said, all the new bows just came out not too long ago, and with Christmas right around the corner, I'd be willing to bet you can find some great deals on ebay, craigslist, archerytalk, and of course bowhunting.com. Congrats on becoming addicted to shooting a bow. Unfortunately there is no rehab for this addiction, there are only pushers and dealers.. Good luck!

Find a couple archery shops near your home and shoot as many different ones as you can, even though they might be out of your price range..THe more you shoot, the more you'll figure out what you like and don't like...Good Luck.
