Buying hunting land: bird-dogging some prime real estate on a shoestring budget

I am in a constant flop back and forth about potentially buying land. To buy any near where I live is futile. WAY too pricey. So I am relegated to buying some far away & I just can't convince myself that it would be worth it to spend all that money on land that I may use only a few weekends a year & honestly I'd have a REAL tough time finding better land to buy than the places I already have to hunt.
