Anybody doing this? I just refletched a bunch of arrows and I love how quickly and easily these quick fletches work not to mention how they all seem to fly the same. Unlike factory fletched arrows which seem to a 10% defective ratio with them that you have to seek out. I like to buy arrows from Hunterfriend.com because I can pick the arrows and color vains but I really like these quick fletchs just wish they came in more color combos I guess.
After an updated search I see that they are offering a lot more colors now in the Quick Fletches. New Archery Products - QUIKFLETCH
Wow. A lot of you guys. Now what's your reasoning? They fly better? They last longer? They're cheaper that way? Or you like the look?
I like to look and it's cheaper in time for me. My pro shop usually has a decent wait for fletching and I'm not set up to do them on my own. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They fly the same as my Blazer vanes. ??? They last a long time if you don't shoot all your arrows at the same spot at the same time. I don't know about being cheaper - but hey... YUP - they look great! My buddy custom-fletched my current arrows with a Blazer wrap and vanes, and they're okay... but I just liked doing my own with the QuickFletch, so I'm going back to them. I've always purchased the QuickFletch Quick Spin vanes but have been wanting to try the Twisters - has anyone that has shot both seen a big accuracy different 'twix the two?
Bitzenburger. It's not that bad really. If precision is your thing there is no other way. I understand that quick fletch is cool and obviously it works well enough. Personally I just feel that it isn't as precise. Also I don't feel that a blazer vane creates enough spin for shots to hold true. However I'm not naive to the fact that a bare shaft shot will often fly straight.
I have a bitz but have been thinking about going this route. Quick Fletch would be more reliable IMO. It doesn't happen often but I have had a vane come off in flight a few times and throw my shot off. Not something I'm willing to chance anymore. I just wish they were cheaper. I always shot using a Whisker Biscuit as well and the only time I've had issues with the vane's coming off is when I had a pro shop re-fletch them. Factory or Hunter'sfriend has always held up well also but I think these Quick Fletches are bullet proof and you could even re-fletch your arrows over a camp fire if you had to.
For years I built custom cedars. I just like building arrows. But cost and time with carbons just made sense once shrinkfletch was pretty much perfected. Now with a bunch of choices and styles, I can refletch or repair in short order. Much more of an issue to scrape existing fletch off of carbons vs alums also. Prefer no glue to mess with on a carbon.
I'm new to bow hunting, and interested in the quick fletch my question is how much do they weigh and do you guys take FOC into consideration, is it very important?
They are so similar in weight to a wrap and glued vanes that I don't feel it changes the FOC numbers at all.
Have you verified thru spine testing ( ie, setting the cock vane in line with the stiff side of the arrow) to rule out the possibility of them turning slightly on the arrow shaft after shooting for a while? I'm just curious. I heard horror stories of the early models spinning on the arrows shat and not sticking in place, just curious if this has been corrected.
I have never had any turn. I have had them slide forward about 1/4" when hitting a solid object like a tree. ALthough it looks off, that still never impacted flight.
Despite only being 21, I've shot everything from old school feathers to these to 4" vanes to blazers. The quikfletch twisters and those new blazers they have that are 1.97" or something like that are my favorite. Not a huge difference between the quick spin and the twisters, but it is noticeable.
I still use blazers. I did the quickfletches and like them, but they were expensive to replace and add weight to the rear where I don't want it, especially after already having a bulldog collar (CE arrows) and a lighted knock. Probably dosn't make a huge difference but I'm rather anal about my arrows so I want to put every grain exactly where I want it.
