seriously I know far too many guys who make big purchases bows, guns other big ticket "toys" and try and hide it from their wives, not exactly a recipe for a healthy marriage..

this is actually how I feel about all the money close to a 1/4 mil I blew on drag race cars over the years, sure it was fun at the time real fun but sure wish I had that money back... :jaw:

My PSE Stinger 3G was the first bow I bought. All my other bows were hand me downs. I'll probably be getting a new bow this year, even though I've only had my stinger for 3 years. It's a good bow, but it has it's issues, and while I can get great groups @ 50 yards, I'm still not getting the accuracy I want. You get what you pay for, and I got a good bow, compared to my others, and now I'm ready for something with a smother draw and a shorter brace height. If I drop 1k on a new bow, I probably won't buy a new one for 4-5 years.

I usually get a new bow every 2-3 years, that's the way it's seems to be. I only buy a new bow if I can sell my current one first, and if I have to put a couple hundred into the new set up then that's ok with me. Most of the time I just have one bow. I just like trying new bows and owning new bows. If I like a bow more than my current one I'll try and sell it to purchase the new one.

I'm truly jealous of you guys who have 2+ bows and get a new one every 1-2 year... Wish I could afford that!

For me... I'm shooting a 2006 Bear Instinct my dad got me at the local pawn shop :\ - I've upgraded everything on the bow, now I just need to get the bow. I've got more than enough money to buy a brand new one, but can't justify spending the $1000 when mine works just fine and because I'm saving for an engagement ring/house.

It use to be once every 3 years, then once every 2 years, and now this year it was year after year so..... It really just depends on what comes out on the market. Sometimes I'll just swap bare bow and keep accessories as well.

Life is all about balancing priorities. They don't remain static though-out our lives, its up to us to recognize and judge those differences. If something is important to you make it a priority, with hard work all things are within reach.

I'd definitely rather have a good woman by my side and a wall to hang my mounts than the brand new "insert brand" bow. :D

Sorry you are so offended that I pointed out the wasteful spending habits of so many people. Guess it must have really stung you. Either you missed the part where I said "its probably not a big deal if you have a lot of expendable income", or you don't have a lot of expendable income and now you're facing a retirement of Ramen noodles. But hey at least you have 2 bows.

I don't go around making references to peoples spending habits when they aren't germane to the conversation. If it makes you feel smarter pointing things like out then keep at it. You might need to boost your self-esteem.
And for the record can buy a bow a month and it wouldn't hurt my disposable income or my retirement. I am one of those evil wealthy Conservatives that you dislike so much. Oh and a life time NRA member on top...

These kinds of threads always turn this way. A few guys telling others they are wasteful, have more money than sense, don't know how to manage money, etc., etc. I don't need some people telling me how to manage my money or my marriage, but thanks.

Saying that I get new bow whenever I want. Sometime's it's 5 years, sometimes it's 6 months. I am the same way with my motorcycles. When I get bored with them, I make a change. Trust me it does not cut into my retirement, I am not charging things, my wife knows about all my purchases...I'm good.

I shoot an 07 Allegiance and have a second one in a different poundage as a back up. Both bought in 08 used. I don't foresee me buying a new one anytime soon. While I could certainly afford to, I see no reason to.

I bought my last bow in 2012 and I'm thinking about buying a new one now. I'll probably get two for the foreseeable future, a compound and a traditional.

Enjoy your money. We all work out butts off to get things for ourselves. So if you want a bow, get a bow.

coop..... this is not directed at you just forums in general..

The only reason these threads can turn ugly is most forums have far too many grown men who act like selfish little entitled children online..

I surly hope you don't tell your wives it's your money and you will do with it as you please.. They may say it's OK but when the S..H...T...F and she is talking to divorce attorney she will sing a diff tune... learned that from my first marriage of almost 20 years..

those who are offended may flame on now...lol
