I will be buying a Hoyt for the first time in my life after being a Mathews fan for the last 10 years, and just wanted to know what yall taught about the new Maxxis 35 ?
Have you shot all the bows out there??? I'm a Hoyt fan, not saying I won't buy anything else, I have and will, but I really like my Hoyts....(Maybe because they'll always double as a boat anchor if needed....:D), but I like the Alphamax32 and AM35 better than either the Maxxis31 and Maxxis35, and even better than the Carbon Matrix believe it or not. Just a thought, I know they (the AM's) are "last year's" bows, but I can't for the life of me see where they've improved over them with the Maxxis OR the Carbon Matrix....Just my HONEST $.02. Now if you want my "biased $.02," I think the KATERA is a GREAT bow, and I'll sell you one for $450 TYD......:D ....... -----------> Because he DESERVES the BEST........:D
I really thought the Maxxis 35 shoot really well to me. I just sold my Switchback and then went a bought the Mathews Monster 7 and its ok im just not in love with it, and thought i would buy the Hoyt Maxxis 35 and try it before i leave in september for my whitetail hunt in wyoming
The problem i had with mathews this year is that in a 31in draw mathews only had the drenalin ld and i didnt want that so if anybody has any suggestions please let me know ? I thought the next best bow would be a Hoyt but tell me what yall are thinking ?
I thought I'd like the Maxxis better, I went to a local shop and shot side by side the AM's, Maxxis's (31 and 35), and the Carbon Matrix, and I was quite surprised that I like the AM's the best of the bunch, both the AM32 and AM35 felt smoother to me than the others I'd rank them 1. AM35, 2, AM32, 3. Carbon Matrix (even if it was #1, though, that $1500 price tag was gonna keep it from coming home with me.... ) 4. Maxxis35, and the 5. Maxxis 31, I actually can say, I'd really be more likely to pick up a Diamond Black Ice as my next bow than a Maxxis, as I REALLY like the Diamond Black Ice a LOT as well. For me that MONSTER was a "rotator cuff repair" looking for a reason, and I just didn't see that as something I needed in my future. I had an 82nd that I liked, but it just wanted super stiff arrows and was so damned fast I didn't see it and I ever meshing well. Nice bow, well balanced, but just not for me.... Don't just go buy a Maxxis35 unless you've shot a LOT of different stuff and determined it is the ONE bow you really want though, shoot everything you can get your hands on, you may find that the Diamond Marquis or a Parker Wildfire really feels nice and fits you better.. That being said, I liked a Hoyt Katera XL better than a Katera when I shot them in shops, and I ended up picking up a Katera later, and after shooting both bows SET-UP side by side, I decided that I like the Katera a little better afterall....... Can't make up my mind sometimes.... I like a LOT of bows, one look in my archery/hunting room and that would become VERY apparent....:D
The Hoyt maxxis isnt a horrible bow but i perfer bowtech bows i personally think there the best on the market....
monster 7 comes 30.5 and most mathews are running a little long in draw anyways, and add 1/2 with a string loop. hoyts are nice but like someone else said a little heavy for my taste. but shoot very nice and meet there ibo numbers very well bowtech has a few in 31'' draw. In wich i am a new fanboy of http://www.bowtecharchery.com/products.php destroyer340 comes in 31 as does the swat and sniper the sentinel flx comes in 30.5 add a loop and your there. For me i am 6'1 and have shot 31 draw bows and now i am shooting 29.5 and 30'' draw bow alot better with the string loops , I got rechecked this year at my pro shop and first thing they told me was everyone always leans towards a longer draw then they need, but will shoot better with even a 1/2''shorter draw lenght. have your local pro shop measure you, cant hurt. best of luck ...roger
also you might look into the strother line of bows there bows show some lengths up to 32'' draw. http://www.strotherarchery.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=77&Itemid=87
my maxxis 35 rocks and all other bows suck!!!!! LOL It really is a nice shooting bow Ive let at least 20 people shoot it and had very few complaints.
Welcome to the wonderful world of HOYT......... Once you have owned a HOYT you will never go back!!!!! The Maxxis Rocks by the way, have not owned it but have had some fun with a very nice demo Maxxis 35. Nearly bought it for the sheer hell of it! ....and yes I do own a HOYT!
I would go out and shoot a few different models. I liked the Maxxis 35 I shot at the shop but they also had last years Alpha Max for decent amount less and it shot well. I have an 08 Katera and love it!
Have you shot a Hoyt lately? Their bows range from 3.75- 4.3 pounds, Bowtech doesn't even list their bow weight on their site
I don't know the particular bow mentioned..... but I've shot a lot of Hoyt's at a bow shop just playing. I've owned Bear, a couple PSE's, Darton and Bowtech. I like Hoyt.... just never bought one. If I get in a mood to change it would probably be a Hoyt just for the heck of it.
I was in the bow shop today and saw a guy with a new, fully rigged AM 35---boy that bow looked fantastic.
I have the AM35 and love it. I have not shot the Maxxis but based off of my experience you can't go wrong with a Hoyt. The most important thing is to shoot what is most comfortable to you.
Thanks for all the advice, I have shoot the maxxis 35 and the am 35 and the maxxis shoots better to me. Thanks for the help guys and hope you all have a great deer season !! Danny
