I went out today about 4 pm to dark and saw two jakes and a raccoon. As I was walking out I kicked up 3 deer, couldn't make them out because it was too dark but that was the first time I had seen a deer while out. Once I got home, I checked my SD card and there were 2 different bucks that walked by yesterday morning at 7:30 and 8!!! Just my luck!!!! Missed them by 1 day!!!! I'll be headed out tomorrow afternoon to see if I can catch one of them!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
update on my season Figure id check in here today before heading off to IA this afternoon. The season has been filled with sightings but nothing to shoot yet. I passed a nice buck that turned out to be 136 inches after my friends dad got him. It was a huge bodied 6 1/2 year old 10 ptr, 21 inches wide inside. He had short tines but nice mass. Just not what I am looking for this early in the season in WI. But I will say judging by recent pictures things are looking pretty bleak and maybe I should have shot him. Lets hope as the corn comes down the bucks are put on the move for cover cause if this is the new WI I am in a state of shock compared to when we had Earn A Buck. The EAB years were some of the best I have seen (in the areas I hunt). But that was then this is now. As for IA, well, there are some very nice deer running around. Two weeks ago I nearly sealed the deal on a mid 150s 10 ptr but it got to dark. Cameras are showing deer on the move. Scrape activity is heated. One scrape, over a 4 day period, saw 31 different bucks at it, mostly at or after dark. I will be spending much of my time there over the next several weeks in hopes of harvesting something I am happy with. Good luck team 25 and be safe out there.
I`ve only been out 4 times so far. Brought a buddy out with me last sunday, he ended up getting a doe. Things have been pretty slow so far, but im hoping to try out some different spots and get more time in a stand in the coming weeks.
Pumped!! I scored a small piece of 5 acres over the weekend. There is a channel on the backside so I won't have to worry about anything behind me. I put out a camera yesterday then went in got a stand put up today and grabbed the camera and sneaked back out. I got a sweet surprise when I checked the card. Once we get closer to prime time with daytime movement I will be all over him. He is 1 of 4 bucks on the card so here he is. <a href="https://youtu.be/bXrf2dTBJkc" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXrf2dTBJkc
That is always a bonus when you score a new property to hunt and then discover a nice buck after the first couple days. Good luck with him. My guess is he isn't the only good one around there if it was that easy to get a picture of him.
well I went to dr yesterday to find out how the mri went my shoulder is ripped up bad I may never get to shoot a bow ever only part that is good if it works out that way in nh if you get dr ok the state will let you use a crossbow to hunt with so i will have to wait and see what happens but I will not be bow hunting until next year good luck to all of you sorry I could not help with team points
Good luck with the shoulder!! Hope it all turns out well for you!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sucks to hear it's that bad. Hope they fix it up and back at normal day to day stuff comfortably. Glad to hear you can work things out for hunting too. I'd do the same if I had to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So I am in the stand now and was this morning as well. I had about 10-15 does waking around this morning and 1 button buck and now this afternoon that button buck is walking around again!! I checked my camera and there was a nice 8 point that walked in front of it at about 6 am and I got into the tree stand about 6:30. That would be my luck but I did find a legit scrape about 40 yards from my stand!! Hopefully tonight will be the night!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
