I know the top 3 made it through rifle season. All of them move in daylight more than Buster ever did.

Pretty sure Spivey has Buster's genes: Tall, Narrow, Sweeping Brows...

Well that stinks, Fitz. Good to know what happened to him, but stinks you didn't take part in that closure :)

Yeah, he pushes all my buttons. Big 8, dark horned, tall, scrappy, character in droves. I'd love to stumble onto his sheds. I was hoping to get out this week, but we're getting 8-10" of snow right now.

Evander may be of the Count Chocula lineage as well...

I'm sorry to hear someone else got him but I am really happy to hear how you handled it. That takes a grown man and a grown deer hunter to do that. Congratulations to the hunter and to you for being the biggest(not the the bigger) man in this situation. Serious props to you sir.

That sucks but you got some good ones to get after this year. Do you hunt near where the Minnesota Monarch lived? Would be fun knowing his genetics are in your area.

It's a bummer, but to me I'd rather see a hunter take a deer I am after than it get hit by a car or die of disease. I don't know why, it just seems like a better end to me :) .

Guess I'm not sure exactly where he was, but with how far these wilderness bucks can displace and roam, it's certainly possible that some of his genes are wandering these parts. You just never know what's going to step out of the woods up here.

I take it back. Upon further investigation, I believe the Monarch lived about 7 miles away :tu:
