What will you do after getting busted by a deer. Would you call it a day, or will you continue to hunt.

I stick it out. I've had lots of deer blow at me coming into the stand in the AM, and still see deer after the sun comes up. Seem like does love to blow at you, but bucks tend to just turn and burn. Either way, I stick it out.

I had this same thought about 6:45 tonight when I had a doe bust me. I was hunting out of a ground blind this evening, stuck around and had 3 small bucks and what I believe was the two same does come back right at 8pm. They hung around for about 15 minutes then left on their way. Couple minutes later she started blowing once again, this time circling me while continuing to blow. Good thing it was dark and I just made my way out. I wanted to call it quits after the first encounter but I stuck it out and they came back, no shooters but still deer.

Depends on a lot of things. Like what time is it (say late morning or at the end of daylight hours). Sometimes the deer will be blowing at other things like a predator. I had a doe blow and I thought it was me til I heard the wolves howl a minute later. Also it would depend if I actually saw the deer. Sometimes you will hear a doe blow and not even have her close enough to see. So I would say it really depends on the situation. Sometimes I call it quits and vice versa

I've been busted by countless deer just to have another come along mere minutes later. I would guess that if you were hunting one particular big ol buck and he busted you that your day might be over but that is just a guess. Those big bucks just don't seem to put up with much crap.

More often than not, I just stay put!! No real need to pack it up unless you were planning to leave anyways...

I continue to hunt since its just some of the deer that are going to bust you. If a deer busts you and starts to snort if you snort back the deer will come back and you could get a shot at it.

I keep on hunting. I have been busted, then a few hours later, the same deer makes the mistake of coming back.

I had a doe with two yearlings bust me a couple years back (because I didn't shoot her when she was right in front of me). Instead of thanking me, she pounds her hoof and blows at me three times. this was maybe 45min before dark. 30min later I had a buck walk that same trail. The only time I would say move, is if the wind is just bad and you get busted multiple times by different deer. Then move to a different setup.

Stick it out! I got busted by a nice buck that was following some does when I drew my bow back. 20 minutes later I was tired and frustrated so I decided to leave and as I was mid way down the tree I look up and 40 yards away is the biggest buck I'd ever seen in person :bash:
