Went out Thursday to check my hidden camera on the new entry path into my property to find this guy! MDGC0009.jpg MDGC0008.jpg

Lucky for me he must have gotten scared when he saw the camera, because it looks like he turned right around and left. I'm still conflicted on whether or not to provide these to the local police. He didn't run through all of my property and he didn't take the camera. So I think I’ll let him go this time. Plus he looks like a high schooler or younger. No harm this time, but what would you do?

He was still on YOUR property for 4 minutes. He does look younger as you stated. Keep surveying the entrance. I would suggest if there is a return visit then escalate the situation to the proper authorities. Good luck!

I would ask around and see who it is and go have a chat with him and his old man. If they brush it off like no big deal or it happens again then contact authorities.

Do you know where he lives? If he is your neighbor's son just go to his house and talk to him. Ask him to stop going onto your property. If he does it again then I would notify someone.

You can always put a board out with nails in it.

If you have another camera I would find a better hiding spot for it and have it overwatching the original camera. He might tell some friends about it and then get ballsy and decide to steal it.

If I could find out who it was, I'd make it a point to talk to them about it. Put a little scare into them. Make sure they understand the importance of property lines and staying out of where you don't have permission.

My hunting buddy lives near the place and was going to keep an eye out for the kid, but he didn't reconize him either. This is all bottum ground and there are some old popular trails near my property. This guy noticed the new trail I made off an old trail and decided to follow it.

You could also cut down some trees on your property line. Block the trail entrance and put sign up.

Setting out a board with nails is illegal and can end up getting you in a lot of trouble. There are better ways to take care of this.

I have boards with nails out on mine...And I would do as stated above and try to find his parents. Id also print and laminate the picture and put it where he came on so he knows hes being watched if he comes back.

Do you have a "No Tresspassing" sign near or on the trail? It could be that the kid just made a mistake on going through your land, not that he was doing this on purpose. Sometimes it is hard to tell where public land ends and private begins if there are no signs. At any rate, I would leave the camera out and hide it a little better just in case.

There isn't any public land anywhere near here. All private. I have it post else where, but I'm going to post it on this trail now.

The board with nails does work really well. It may be illegal but if placed well inside your property, how do you figure they would report it. "Well, I drove past the NO TRESPASSING sign and ran over this board with nails in it and it got all 4 tires on my ATV. Talk about hanging yourself with your own rope.....

I suggested we hang a chain but the owner was concerned that someone would run into it and sue

The owner is a very smart man. I really dont think some kid deserves to be paralyzed just because he was riding his ATV in the "wrong" place.

I agree too. Everyone who has a ATV rides down there. There are trails older then me perhaps. They connect small town to small town, or should I say bar to bar. lol. This kid turned around and left heay have just been curious about the trail. I tried to keep it as concealed as possible, but this drought did help that effort much. I stoped cutting the trail about 10' in from the road/trail. But you can tell because all of the trees I ran over are dead. My bad! He's fine until I catch him after October 1st or on any of my other trail cams.

I would juat make sure the trail was blocked by a gate or something and properly marked with no trespassing signs.

My little brother went down a trail by accident when he was 10 and got clothes lined bad. It ripped his neck up really bad. I would not go to that extreme
