Newbie question here- I got busted in my stand yesterday morning. The doe I was drawing on didnt see me move, but her friend that I didnt notice behind me did. They snorted and took off, and my day was ruined. Its a great location, where 2 trails intersect and within walking distance from my back door. So how long should I wait to go back to that location or is it completed buggered and I should look to go somewhere else?

They will be cautious about it for a little but it's not a dead location. Hell I have spooked deer only to have them come back 30 minutes later. And its not like you spooked every deer in the country there will be other deer. If your worried about it let it rest for a few days then hop back in and smack the one the busted you. Makes you feel better.

I would go back today if the wind is right and kill the snorter. They don't have that good of a memory.

This is your correct answer.....if it is so close to your back door
they probably have done the same thing when you go out and relieve yourself or hang Laundry
    ASAP.....
    Kill the Snorter!

If you do keep getting busted there move your stand to the other side of the trail or if you can move your stand higher in the tree. I had a couple does last year that would see me every time I sat there dont know how I had the perfect tree with great cover. I moved the stand to a different tree 20 yards from the original tree and the night I sat in that tree the two does came out staring at the tree I was sitting originally and I took them out.

Depends on the spot really. some stands just dont dry up others it seems like just a couple times in and you will see less and less deer,I try and keep the deer guessing but if a stand is hot hunt it a few times and when deer sightings start to drop off move to another spot.

should be alright whenever you want to go back like mentioned above if its close to homes the deer shouldn't be as spooky
