I agree... A month and a half in jail and $3,700 in fines? Thats what.. $90 a deer? geesh Should have been 6 months minimum and $500 a deer IMO. They did take his hunting and fishing rights for 6 yrs tho... At least they were caught and got in some trouble tho.. I also agree with Sota, I hope they learned a lesson from this.
license suspension means nothing to a guy that kills without a license anyways. agree ban for life and wear a skimpy dress in jail for bubba!!!! and soap with no rope!!!!
Glad they caught them, wished they'd have pinned their azzes to the wall. It should have been a felony and lost all gun rights indefinitely. What they did is about the most gutless, asinine thing imaginable. Totally reprehensible and no justification for it.
The punishment sucks. I mean, it costs me about half what he got in fines per deer, to hunt legally for a year.... Why let him off easy when he did it over 40 times?!?!?! People get worse penalties for accidentally breaking game laws.....
LOL...sad but that's an incredible point. I've noticed for a long time here that the DNR doesn't care about poaching anymore especially when it comes to deer. I think they must feel that they are too thick anyway so who cares.
Yeah, I don't understand how this guy got such a low fine/sentence. I mean, this wasn't even poaching, thrill killing that many deer scares me. This kids not right in the head!
Hellya! If we added up all it takes with clothes, tractors, various equipment, land, and on and on, to do it legally. That is definitely getting off easy. To say the least.
I am glad they caught them, but I doubt that pitiful punishment will stop them from doing it again in the future. Anybody that takes joy in just shooting animals and leaving them to run off and die has a mental problem.
Let's see 40 deer shot and all he gets is that for punishment,I feel they should have gave him 6 months for each deer. He obviously has a mental issue and needs a evaluation,I mean if you go out and kill for thrills than you are a little mental don't you think.
Most people where I live in Maine shoot deer with rifles from, or within 2 paces of, their trucks. I always hope there's a special place in hell for these types of people.
