On Saturday I was out checking a salt block I put near a trail. It had been there for a week and no activity. I picked it up and without thinking threw it in the trunk of my 3 wheeler. I was going to take it back to the house and put it in the building for later. I headed out to a new stand site to trim a trail and when I was done I opened the trunk to get out the marking tape and the salt block was now a big pile of salt. I figured what the heck I should go ahead and throw it out somewhere, so on the way back to the house I went to the corner of a 2 acre grown up cow pasture and threw out the salt in a small area I had taken some dirt out of to fill another hole earlier in the year. No sign of deer anywhere in sight. Today I had to go down to the little barn that I have down at the edge of the pasture. While I was there I decided to ride over and check the salt spot. There were hoof prints all around the salt and I found a new deer trail. It appears they are beading in this area. I immediately started looking for a tree to hang a stand near the trail and I now have a new stand site. five down, one more to find. Anyone ever found a new stand location by accident or found anything you didn't expect??
