Bust week this year for the rut ??

    What is going to be the best time to sit rut or pre rut ?? When is it going to happen ?

    The same time it does every year.
    Will get rolling around Halloween and continue through the different fazes the entire month of November.
    Obviously temps will dictate how much happens during daylight hrs.
    I personally have had the best mature buck movement within a few days of Nov 10th.
    A good cold front around Halloween can be dynamite.

    Elk seem to usually be around the 20th of September.
    Whitetails tend to be around the 10th of November.
    Mule deer like the 15th of November.

    But those are just typical season observations.

    I killed my 2015 elk on September 21 and killed my 2016 White Tail buck on November 11. Good estimates Elk Guide.

    Like some on this thread have been saying......same time every year. The moon theory has nothing to do with it. Seems like I always kill a decent buck from Nov 11-17.
