I bought the trophy cam a couple weeks ago... set it up and over night i got 1600 pics of branches blowing in the wind...and a few rabbits. I adjusted the sensor to low as the manual said to do and it's still doing the same thing. Is there a way to adjust the sensor even more or is it just a very sensitive trigger? I cleared the closer branches out infront of the camera like the manual said to do.
Honestly, I don't know. I'd call Bushnell and see what they say. You have a 2 year warrantee so if it is a defect with the sensor then you can get it replaced. Good luck.
I mean 1600 is a lot of pictures, but check and see how far away the branch or grass in front of the camera is. Post a picture and let me see what you're getting.
Heres a pic with a rabbit in it but its at the same spot that the cam took all those pics. The trees arent that close... I dont think.
I don't know. I see you have the new model, there may just be a bug, call Bushnell and see what they have to say. Here are a few of my pictures: (I got mine in December from a friend head of the Bushnell line, so I don't have many pictures yet, if you have problems getting it taken care of let me know and I can talk to him for you) But I think a lot of my problem was that I had mine set up to take 2 or 3 pictures everytime. For instance, the picture taken before the last one: You can see in the first pictures that there is a branch that caught the camera, those are some things to look for, and I don't know how you have your camera set up, but the snow blowing around might be a factor, how windy has it been? And those trees shouldn't be a problem, but you never know. If you got your camera at a store take it back and see what they can do (replace it). It really is a good camera, so stick with it, I just think you need to try it a little more. Is there another place you can put it out of the wind or just somewhere else with less trees to try? If not, like I said the best thing to do is to call Bushnell or take it back and switch it out with a new one.
And on the coyote one I posted the wrong one, I had 2 coyotes, one was just a few seconds before the blank.
I just put it up in the back yard on the lawn so there isnt any trees for about 30 yards. We'll see how it works. If it doesnt I'll call bushnell. If it does then Ill try it out some more. I will dink with it and see what happens.
I'd send it back to Bushnell and have them look at it. We've sold a ton of them through the site her, but have had a few come back for repairs. In fact, I have one right now getting fixed b/c the LCD screen stopped working. All in all a good cam, so I'd get it checked out before giving up on it. The batter life on these things is amazing, and I love their small size.
Don't do it! :D By the way, I'm adding Kyle to my signature also. So all the Kyle's will be known on bowhunting.com.
Yeah, Im definately not giving up on it for one little thing. Who knows it could be something that im doing. Im going to talk to bushnell tomorrow.
I called Bushnell. I told them what it was doing and that I need it when Bear baiting opens in a couple weeks. They said to send it UPS and email them a Tracking # and once they see that its been shipped they will send out a new one. I guess I'll see how quick they send it out... Sounds like pretty good customer service though.
Wow, you can't beat that! Hopefully you have better luck with your 2nd one. Be sure to post bear photos when you get them.
I'll definately post some bear pics. Hopefully I can get a couple pics of some Big Brownies for you guys... just as long as they dont stick around and eat all my bait.
