Anybody using this? Firstly, I can't find any size information. Don't know how big it is or how heavy it is. Secondly, what's your opinion on this? I really want to buy one for my pig hunting trip.
Please see my review on the Redfield 7X50 porro prism binos before you decide. The porro units a bulkier than the roof units, but optically superior at lower pricing points, due the required phase correction and greater precision in alignment required with roof units. Redfield is offering a $25 rebate if you order by the end of August. You have my word that you will be blown away by the brightness and quality of the image. My review is on the previous page and Cabalas has several complementary reviews as well. Redfield makes roof units for a few bucks more, but I doubt they can match the optical quality of the porro units.
Link for the bushnell: http://www.opticsplanet.com/s/bushnell-legend-ultra-hd If you go for the Bushnells, I reccomend you buy the 8X42's for their superior exit pupil and image stability. $240 Link for the Redfields: Results for redfield renegade - Sorted by Best Match on Page 1 (All 3 items.) - OpticsPlanet For the same reason mentioned above, I reccomend the 7X50's in this model $95. There's a $25 dollar rebate on the Redfields and I can give you a 5% (previous customer) discount number, regardless of which model you choose. One final note: if you are hunting open plains, say greater than 400 yards, the higher power units may be a better option. The higher power does however, present problems relating to smaller exit pupil, image stability, and quick focus when hunting brush.
This fella does a good job explaining why a 7X50 is your best all around bino. Optics for Preppers Bugout and WROL 7x50 binoculars Steiners - YouTube
