Has anybody seen or heard of the new Bushnell cameras. I just saw a ad for them. One the camera takes a picture it automatically sends the picture to your phone, ipad, computer. So you could be sitting at work and get a picture sent from your camera thats in the woods and you can see what just walked by. To me thats crazy I know they have live feeds and stuff like that for the cams now but dang. Does anyone have this or planning on getting one? They are crazy expensive but pretty cool.

Covert started that in 2011 :D

The 2013 closeout models can be had for $250.00 and the plan is $9.99 a month for 1000 pics.

Something about strapping a $500 bill to a tree in the woods makes me a little hesitant :)

I bought one and am returning it after using it for 3 weeks. Here is why:

The camera sends you a link, not an actual thumbnail. Ash which point, you click the link and get a barely viewable thumbnail. You cannot read the timestamp or the temperature. The picture quality is rough.

So you can get a better high resolution picture but you have to pay extra to download those. Those are priced at 7.99 for a pack of 10 high resolution downloads or 16.99 for a 25 pack.

The camera comes with 30 days of data but after that the data plans are as follows:
    1000 thumbnails per month 9.99
    2000 thumbnails per month 19.99
    5000 thumbnails per month 29.99
10000 thumbnails per month 59.99 per month

I put my camera in field on 12/13/13 and have had 1551 thumbnails.

No way to limit pics sent. No way to send remote commands. No GPS. No external antenna.

The current price of 499 is only temporary for the first 100 sold. Then price will go to 599. The first 100 were only being released through Cabelas.

Attached are two low-res pictures from the camera. These were downloaded from the website and not the ones I view on my phone which are even worse.
