In the next couple weeks I'm gonna be putting my new NAP Apache Drop Away on my bow. Was looking for some insight as to which of these methods would be better for the cord attachment to the cable. I've never tied serving before so I would assume the cable clamp would be easier for me. Has anybody had any problems with clamps coming loose and messing up the timing of your drop away? Just looking for some opinions as to which route to take. Thanks

I would take it to a shop and have them serve it on. I have seen where clamps have slid, whether it be construction or poor setup, and they just look tacky as hell to begin with.

Or, you could serve it on yourself, it's never to late to learn how to wrench on bows.

Serve it on for sure. The clamps stink...an easy way/ short cut to serving it is to tie in place at the cable using the same knot you use for your D loop, burn an flatten the end...then serve above it for 1/8 an inch and it won't slide...takes a whole 5 minutes and you don't even need a press.

Awesome. Yeah definitely should learn to tie serving anyway as it is skill I will need in the future so I think that's the way I'm gonna go. Just wasn't sure if that should be my first experience serving. Haha. But I guess no matter what there's always gotta be a first. And if the clamps are known to slip then I'd rather just serve it and learn that anyway. :) thanks guys

I just put a new string on my bow and have my rest cord clamped to the cable with one made by Trophy Taker I believe. So far so good. May be good for quick adjustments
