I take strict scent precautions when I go out: shower, scent-lok from airtight bags, spray down all gar, etc. I hunted a stand in WI where a woodlot meets a bean field and a corn field separated by a tree line. Im in the tree line 50 yards from the wood lot. Great early season and rut location. I've been hunting it only once each weekend, allowing the week to rest it. Now the trail cam near it only shows small bucks and does. The big boys seemed to have left town. I think they are catching on to me, so I am resting the stand again. How long should I rest it? 2 weeks, 3, 4, the season? It is dynamite come the seeking phase of the rut. Should I rest it till Halloween?

I would rest it for a week and then hunt it again.

I think what you have been doing is just fine. Strong possibility that some other factors drove the big boys out.

Big boys can be had the first 10 days then go nocturnal till the rut. Wait till 1025ish and only hunt it when the wind is good.

^^^^ what he said. You have to stay disciplined not to hunt your best stand before the rut. I almost did it the other day. Where i hunt the deer are sensitive to pressure. Good luck
