I had 2 different people tonight tell me they are seeing a bumper white oak acorn crop hanging on this year. I really haven't looked yet. Has anyone else seen this?

Around here most of them froze last year in early April. Sounds like they might be making up for it this year.

Isn't it a little premature? I'm asking as I don't know. My acreage here is loaded with oak, mostly red and black but I'll have to look at the white oaks that are here.

I've seen pics posted on the QDMA site with little acorns all over the branches. I'm gonna check this weekend at my place. I have tons of white oaks.

I don't know about the oaks, but right behind my camp there are a bunch of beech trees. They are dropping nuts like crazy. I have an old truck cap I'm storing back there until I can turn it into a rainy day blind for rifle hunting, and the beech nuts were bouncing off that thing all night last weekend. Woke me up every time.

I havn't really paid attention to the oaks, but I also havn't really noticed any other the ground when checking my camera. Usually if it is gonna be a good year I will see a few acorns that fall off early through the summer but I havn't this year. Next time I check my camera I will have to take a good look.

I haven't looked closely at the acorn yet, but the hickory nuts are like freakin everywhere!

It does indeed look like a good crop of white oak acorns and persimmons too.

We had very few acorns last year at all. I'd like to see a good crop, most of my woods consists of White, Red and Pin Oak trees.

Most of the acrons we had last year just rotted or spouted, we havent had that many in years and all of a sudden the woods were covered solid with acorns, I dont think the deer knew what they were cause they hardley touched them same with the turkeys. Now we have tons of little oaks growing all over the place

Last year was a great crop and I have no reason to suspect this year will be different...I almost with that it would....in my cabin woods there are acorns left on the ground untouched....Thus making it easy for the deer not to have to travel to traditional bigger oak groves on the land.
