    Hey Guys,
I have never posted here before but have been lurking for a few months now and have learned alot!!

I got my first bow about six years ago, got the bow all set up and sighted in, got my licence and it ended there. I Drag race during most of early bow season and was always working till dark in the winter so never had much time to go out.

My friend and i got to talking and he was interested in taking up a new hobby and got really into the idea of bow hunting. I helped him with what i could and he got started with a new Bear instinct and fell in love. Thanks to him i was able to remember why i loved bow hunting so much and i got right back into it with him. I had the old PSE Nova and it all started again when i took it out to let him shoot it and found my old cheapo sight was broken. I went out and got a new trophy ridge sight. Got the bow sighted in and got right back into it reading things about it every night and began updating my bow with new sight, rest, meanv supressor, new peep, silencers on the limbs, string, supressor, and slide, new string holder on slide, new arrows, new quiver... Pretty much replaced everything over a two month period making it better each time.

I also finally had a job that allowed me to be out early enough to hunt a few hours every night after work. Set up a stand and for the first time i saw deer every single time i was in the woods. A bunch of does in the begining out of distance, a few bucks but always saw a deer (even saw a black bear on three occasions) I was loving being in the woods again till dark and than meeting up with my buddy and shooting with aid of halogen light till late every night. I was in love again.

I harvested my first buck and first bow deer three weeks ago and it was a great feeling and experience and i now have almost no desire to hunt deer with a gun any longer.

Sorry for the long post but i wanted to give some back round to my question.

I have decided it is time for me to step up to the next level and get a new bow for next year. I have done some reading and really like the Bowtech General. I am open to any suggestions and comments. I was told from the begining by my neighbor who owned a pro shop that if you want the best you buy a Hoyt but i really like the bowtechs. I also wanna try a drop away rest.

So my question to you is, now that you have some back round on me, can you buuld me a bow. What would you recomend i step up to over the summer? Im no millionaire, im a 21 year old union electricion, so i would like the best deal i can get, but dont mind paying for something if its truly worth the expence.

    I thank you in advance!!!!!

Well for starters it is always great when the lurkers start posting so welcome!!!

As for a bow I think that is totally for you to decide and nothing that anyone on here can tell you will answer the question of how it feels to you. I would go out and shoot as many bows as you like in your price range and decide for yourself what is the best bow. I clearly am a Hoyt guy but if you like the Bowtech General I would start with that one then shoot several others before making your decision! Good luck. Let us know what you end up getting! And congrats on your first deer!!!

Thanks for your quick replys guys i appreciate it. I totally understand what you are saying about needing to feel out a bow to see if it fits you. The main thing i liked when i drew back a few bowtechs was how solid the backstop was. when you draw back it feels like you hit a brick wall. I am also looking for something very quiet as i use it for hunting. Mainly looking for some feedback on what bows to look into and try. also some accessories for the bow, like what a good rest or sight or stabilizer to look into< maybe even some stories of you getting back into bow hunting or anything like that

    thanks again in advance!!!!!

I'd recommend following the prior advice. You don't really know how well you're going to like a bow until you get the opportunity to shoot it. Purchasing a bow is a big enough investment that you want to make sure that you do your research on what you're buying. I'm looking to buy a new bow right now too, but just don't have the money to do so. Since I'm lacking the money, I'm just using the savings period to research as many as I can so that I'm happy with the bow I decide to buy.

If you want a Bow Tech, go for it. Just don't shoot a Hoyt first!:d

Really though, shoot them all. I am a Hoyt man, everytime I shop for a new bow I wind up going with Hoyt, your results may vary though. I'm in the market this year and plan on shooting several. I'm lucky, my local shop has em all nearly. Good luck! lp

You will most def want a PSE. I had the Nova until it was stolen, then I upgraded to the Brute, and it's freaking awesome. If you don't get a PSE you will certainly regret it.:d I'm totally joking. To each his own. That;'s why there are several different manufacturers. Good luck picking one out.
