We are having my oldest girls 4 th bday party at the house, but the mosquitoes are terrible and could carry off some of the smaller children. Other than paying $ for a professional to spray what are other options to keep them at bay. I plan on buying a bunch of mosquito candles.

Thermocells work great but I don't know how large an area they cover. I don't know if Bug zappers are effective on them or not. the cintranilla torches on a pole work pretty well. Lowes sells them for like $4 each and just refill with citronella oil...pretty cheap.

We use the torches a lot but wasnt aware they were that cheap. They seem to work pretty well.

Make sure there isn't any standing water which attracts them. Then use citronella candle or thermacells.
