A buddy of mine is looking for a lease in Buffalo County. Somewhere between 100-400 acres. Does anyone know of any spots available?
Hard to come by these days in that area. Almost everything is leased by outfitters. My dad and I have been searching for several years and haven't found anything yet. Keep looking though, you never know when an opportunity might arise!
As Ryan said, tough place to find a lease. I've hunted with buffalo county outfitters before Scott sold the company to Joel, both great guys. My conversations with Scott about leases were that it was basically about who you knew how fast you could drive there before the next guy and how much you really wanted to pay. He was paying 3x or more per acre than other outfitter friends of his through the Midwest. Good luck!
I know of some guys who are from Trempeleau County and they always do pretty good. Maybe that would be a better place to start looking for leases. Probably less pressure for leases and the quality of the hunting can't be TOO far off
I am from Trempeleau county and now live in Clark county and taken nice bucks off our family farm in tremp county. Tremp county I always felt consistently produces big bucks. I would a put an add for lease in the Trempeleau county times.
for bluff country whitetails. its not easy getting a lease. no not there with my past experienced most land owners wont let you lease their land to hunt. you can try knocking on their doors and ask.
