It depends on how big (heavy) a cam your going to get. The heavier the cam the better arm you will need. Im not far from having the coin to drop on the Cannon XA 10 without dipping into my normal income. I looked at the third arm but man there around $350.00. Thats the one I wanted just incase I ever upgrated to a larger cam down the road. Im around Lathes and milling machines in my job so I made my own and have $85 cents in it :moose: Im just saying the size of your cam will be the deciding factor on the arm you will need.

Let me know how you like the xa 10 when you get it. I have been thinking about getting one but I dont know if the 10x zoom will be enough?

    Thanks

I have the same camera the cannon HF-M41. It's cost me about $700 new and it's HD and very light and compact. Great camcorder.

I am interested in this as well... Living in Alaska I deal with LOTS of rain.. Any decent video cameras out there in the $500 range that are weather/water proof?

I just went to a local pawn shop and bought a camcorder that works. I've bought a camera mount that attaches to my bow by screwing it on by the stabilizer....but I'm still trying to improve this as well.

I think I am going to try to get something like a handycam to start out with. If I am correct, some come with a remote and if they don't you can order them. That's all I need for the time being. Not sure I will even like doing it. lol

I got one of those too. BOWPIX camera mount. I just bought a small camera that does pics and video to try it out. Only thing I don't like so far is that the camera only has 4x zoom. Can't really get out very far to get things coming thru the woods. I video'd a squirrel digging in the ground about 18 yrds out and it was pretty decent. Can't wait to try it when I shoot a deer. Come On October!! lol
Been looking at different camcorders and arms to get better quality vids as well. I don't have a lot of money to spend on this stuff, but I'm not gonna be putting it on TV or anything, so really doesn't matter that much. I just want the camcorder and arm so I can get some footage that isn't all shaky from me drawing and shooting.
