Well I have come to realize that the rest and the sight that came with my bow are pretty junky. I've got a new rest ordered so now I'm looking for a good sight. I like the 3 pin sights. With 0.19 pins.Anyway my budget is around 50 or 60 dollars. What would you guys recommend? Thanks!

I got an extreme with 4 pins and a light for 60 so there's plenty of good sights for your price range.
    Tru go, trophy ridge etc....

This is what I put on my new bow this year: Amazon.com: APEX GEAR Accu-Strike 4 Pin Black Bow Sight: Sports & Outdoors

Got the APG version. It's working great so far and I'm only using two pins, 20yd and 30yds.

I like the looks of that sight. Lots of good reviews on the web as well. Anyone got one for sale?

I only say this because I went down the same "replace everything right away" road  . Save your money. Not to say that the sights that are previously mentioned aren't good, its just a much better option to wait and get what you want than to get something now just because you can afford it.:throw:

I have a Trophy Ridge Sharp Shooter. 3 pins .029 pins. Mine came with my bow but I have seen them go for about $20 on amazon. It's a well built and solid sight.

Sword sights, made in Ohio. Can't be beat for the price.

I bought the Trophy Ridge Outlaw 4-pin. 0.19 pins, internal sight light, and 8" of wrapped fiber optics that do not look bad like Cobras or Tru Glo. Smashed it while moving last year and didn't hesitate to replace it with the same sight. Love it. $35-$50.

No help in that price range but would advise you to check around to see what the other guys are using and decide accordingly.

Make yourself wait until January. People will start selling their 1 season used stuff that is basically in still new condition. Also if you look around online you will start finding last year's models at clearance prices. This will let you stretch your dollars a little further and get you a little nicer accessories for the same money.

This is what I am doing and have done in the past. Ended up saving around 100 bucks between my rest and sight. By the way come January or after I kill out I'll have a Trophy Ridge hit-man 5 and a Rip Cord Code red for sale. Each 2 years old. Possibly an NAP Apache stabilizer as well.

Also when you do buy stay away from cheap plastics. Such as the Trophy Ridge outlaw and a lot of others under $50. Also the cheaper Truglos sights (specifically the Carbon XS but I've seen it with others a well) strip really easy so if you go that route be very careful when tightening stuff down.

Thanks for all the advice guys. The black gold is what I will probably end up with even if I have to spend a little more money. I'm going to wait till after seasons over now though.

If I decide to get a custom one from them my BG Rush (used just this season) may be there for the taking...if I do that I'll let ya know. *disclaimer: if I remember!

Does the clear to purple housing work as well as advertised? My biggest gripe with my sight is the pins are too bright and other sights I like the looks of will probably have a same issue so I started looking at the Black Gold stuff. I like the looks of the Widow Maker. Thinking of ordering a custom. Top two pins .19 bottom 3 at .10 with all green fiber. Afraid to see what they charge for that though.

Custom ordering through BG for pin sight size and sight ring color is very affordable from the guys I know did it....if it wasn't I wouldn't even consider it. A few here have done it and may know exact figures. The lighting is bright, but I've never thought too bright like you stated you've experienced on other sights.

That's good to hear, I plan on customizing one after the season. I think mine will be a little expensive though just because certain things I want.
