Just getting into the trad game and not familiar with some makers. I have a buddy wanting to sell a couple of bows and I don't know if they are popular or well made. 1 is a Stacy Drosco (?), the other is a Martin Hatfield. One is nib no longer in production, the other is used but well maintained. The nib is 500. the other is 400. They are both 52# bows,I'm not sure if this is to much for me or not. I shot a 45# @ my local toy store w/no problem. I shoot 2 mathews wheelies @ 63# draw. What say, good price or pass??
The Stacy Drosco might very well be Stacy Groscup. I'm not really sure if he made bows but he did have some signature bows for Zipper(great bows, btw). Stacy was an ordained minister that used to put on archery seminars. One of the highlights of the seminar was him shooting aspirins out the air. The Hatfield is a fine shooting bow. Older Martins were pretty notorious for being heavier than the marked weight...not so sure about the newer bows. Tell your buddy you want to shoot them both...you'll figure out pretty quick which bow is for you
