Has anyone else ever been apart of something like this?

I sure haven't. The opening day of the IL 2nd gun season had my grandpa sitting in one of his tripod stands with the wrong wind. Pretty typical of Ol Gramps. :)

A few minutes went by and he heard something coming from where he walked in. He could make out two deer, but couldn't put together what was happening.

Well it was two bucks locked together! He watched them for 15 minutes struggle and stumble down a CRP ridge, to within 20 yards of his setup. A couple of well places shots later, and Gramps has a story for the ages.

I did a full blog on it here, but I'll post a picture and a short video clip of them below.

I have trail camera pictures on both of them using the SticNPic and Reconyx combo. Pretty neat. :) The bigger of the two was a 150" 10pt with split brows, and the smaller was a 116" 9pt. Both deer were in great shape, and were only feet away from a ditch that they undoubtedly would have fallen into, and not been able to get out of.

That's cool for Grandpa. That 150 is a stud.

Once in a lifetime hunt there.

Is he going to do any type of mount with the 2 bucks?

Thanks everyone! Appreciate the kind words.

The deer will be european mounted together. We cannot get them apart! I tried before field dressing them, to no avail!
