I might have to agree, except it's the OHIO version around here..... I've probably only seen 10 or so mature bucks total in the last few years, and that includes while driving....:( Seen a few up on my NW Ohio property, but I'm limited in where I can hunt there which makes them more difficult to get in on....

Thanks, Germ. I have killed a handful of 1.5 year old bucks when I was younger. Just not my thing anymore, but I have the luxury of shooting does to fill the freezer. I would gladly kill a 2.5 if I had one in bow range, but I rarely see them. 1) I suck, and 2) there just aren't many around where I have permission to hunt. Hoping that changes in the future...both seeing older bucks and me not sucking. In 2008, I had 21 different yearling bucks inside 25 yards during bow season (some of them multiple times). In 2009, I saw one 2.5 year old.

With all that said, I don't have anything against a hunter taking a legal deer. I chose not to shoot a yearling 7pt three times last year. A 14 year old boy shot him during gun season. He was the happiest hunter I've seen in a long time.
