I need a new string on my '06 Tribute so I sent John (Bucknasty) an email to see what info he needed. He offered to do the strings and cables in BCY 1852 or BCY 452x. What would you recommend? I strictly bowhunt (not in to 3D) if that matters.

Also, he offered 2 sets of prices. One price where string is served with bcy 3d .017 end serving, except all buss cables served in .014 braided halo: (center serving done in bcy #62 unless otherwise requested) or another price where string is served in all braided halo (except center serving done in bcy #62 unless otherwise requested).

I've never replaced my strings/cables before so is there any thing special you would recommend me doing to make my bow shoot better?

When I get my strings I plan on having my local bow shop put them on for me. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Jay

Take John's advise. He won't steer you wrong. I would go with 452X.

Ok but what about the serving. Should I go with the halo braiding? What makes it different. I'm not well versed in this stuff.

I mean halo was mainly brought out because its slick, rugged stuff for finger shooters. I can't say I see a big difference in halo. Its supposed to be more rugged.

But I do like it for my center serving with a finger release. #62 doesn't seem to slide off my fingers.

For a D-loop and release, doesn't really matter. It will only hold the D-loop.

Thanks for the info Big Country. I'm shooting a D-loop so you answered my question.

If it was me ordering... I would go with 452x and for serving material based on two options, would go with what ever is cheaper....
