    I found 46-0-0 and 18-46-0.

Could I get the 18-46-0 and then calculate how much of the 46-0-0 to add to it to get my ratio correct?

Great. As far as the weeds, they aren't all that tall. I will run the mower over it before tilling. When is the right time to add the fertilizer?

At planting. Just preceding a rain if top dressing.

Is "top dressing" the best way? I assume that means just broadcasting it atop the soil? Forgive me you guys... I know nothing when it comes to this stuff.

If you drag or roll the plot after spreading...top dressing works fine. And as mentioned.....doing it before a rain helps too. But lightly discing it in is ideal, but most guys (me included) usually don't

Like Boonerville, I usually surface broadcast at planting and drag or till in. Then plant. When top dressing, you have to be careful of it leeching into the atmosphere. Rain right after broadcasting helps.

I read somewhere on QDMA, that rates of evaporation for surface broadcasting varies, but Urea is especially sensitive. I did not have any luck top dressing Urea on my brassicas last fall after the forecasted rain never came and we entered a dry period. That was my worst stand yet. Should have just tilled it in.

So I have the tractor paid for and lined up for Monday. I went and picked up 2700 pounds of lime today also.

What is the best way to apply the lime? Should I broadcast it before I till it for the first time or do I need to break the sod and soil before liming and then broadcast the lime and till again?

How deep should I set the tiller for?

Either way will work, I used to tend to do after working the ground the first time as it's usually softer to ride over to spread.

Probably just set it for as deep as it'll go. It likely won't go very deep anyway until you've worked it a few times. If in the rare case the soil is soft and it is pulling the tractor too hard then shallow it up. The general idea is to get it worked as deep as possible then smooth it down with lighter tillage then if you're going to till the seed in, most seed doesn't need to be more than just covered good and no more than 1/2" deep. Too shallow is better than too deep in most cases.

Thanks for asking, but I have not been back to the property since I limed and tilled like 6 or 7 weeks ago. I do need to get over there and pull the SD cards. I have a friend who lives a couple miles from there and I asked him to drive by there yesterday and let me know what the farmer planted in the ag field, it is beans.

Went to check the two trail cams this morning, put them up about 8 weeks ago. Both stolen.

I have lost the last 5 trail cameras I have put up. 4 of the 5 gone before the first SD card check. Four different properties on the five cameras. This is why I haven't put trail cams up for the previous 4 years.

Thanks man. I edited my previous post to extend my rant.

Also, I cannot even get a mower back to my clover plot in the woods to mow because it is so muddy on the skidder trail. We have had crazy flooding the past month.

I bet it's the same people....I would be finding a way to fix that....I used to have that problem on one property...I gave a local sheriff deputy permission to hunt it with me and he's arrested 4 people....problem has went away

These properties are all in different towns. I just live around a bunch of slobs I guess.

I lost two cameras four years ago so I quit putting them out for a few years until last year where I put one out. Camera was on a field edge in view of my wives cousins house. Still didn't stop them, gone before my first card check.

Then again this year, gone before the first check. There is no house on this property, just a barn. So I guess that gives people the right to treat it like they own the place.

Have you tried the ol' 2nd camera high up approach?
