I'm trying to fill the remainder of my doe tags now but its not the same as looking for a worthy buck. Although i feel what you are, being in central PA i only get so many opportunities at good bucks. If its the first day of the season, i'm shooting.

Feeling this for the first time and it's really weird and awful and good all at the same time.

I feel strange knowing that unless I pony up the money, miles, and ultimately mortgage my offseason with my wife to run to Ohio, I'm a doe banger/cameraman the rest of this year. I know the feeling will lessen when the early bow season is over and I will truly enjoy being a cameraman/host in rifle season.

I do take some comfort in knowing I have good odds on an archery black bear as we are loaded with them.

In short......absolutely feel it Quik, it's like the first time I got my heart broke.

Tag out on a good buck early verses hunting to the end in 15 below weather and snow up to your arse ??? Boy that is a toughy !! I have no regrets tagging out early every once in a while. I can find stuff to do to keep me occupied.

Not all of us live in the arctic circle either though!:bash::moose:

Deepest snow since I have been alive is maybe 5-7" and it was gone in less than 2-3 days.

After 15 days of 10 hours a day on stand. I tagged out. Just 2 days after (today) I wake up at the usual time and can't figure out what to do with myself. I do have a couple doe tags but the wind is roaring out there and who wants to chase does during the rut ? ? The next couple days will be good a fall walleye fishing trip and then a pheasant hunt. I can shoot another buck with my gun but that isn't the same. I hope I can get my first buck with my muzzle loader this year. At least today is Sunday and there is football. Go Pack !

The phone pictures and text messages from friends in the woods help a little :D
