I took everybodys advice and sat while the combines picked the corn. I saw a buck hauling a$$ from 3 fields away (600yds) after a combine kicked him up. I knew as he hit the fence line splitting all the fields he was going to come my way. I stood up got ready and sure enough he was heading right at me. I ranged where I wanted to shoot him and it was 16 yards, he hit that point and I let it fly. He was quartering at me so I aimed just left of his front shoulder. Complete pass thru but looked a little high, came out low with white hair on the ground. I didnt gut shot him no smell on the arrow. I have good blood and followed it for 100-125 yards. I was by myself so I decided to back out, when in doubt pull put ; ) What do you guys think?? Sorry for the long post. Dead deer or no dead deer?

I bet he's dead not far from where you pulled out. How long did you wait before tracking him?

I waited about an hour but the combines hit the edge of the field and am a little worried they may have spooked him. I dont know.

I hunt in Harvard about a mile from the Wisconsin border (state line rd). I am gonna get out there around 9 am. I sure do hope this is a dead deer. The woods I hunt are not very large and they logged it so there are some roads the deer followed. Going to be a long night.

Good luck! Sounds like a bit of a risky shot. Hope you find him. Remember to take lots of (good) photos.

The little JZ on my right shoulder is giving me the look, so I'll just say good luck finding the deer.

I hope you stopped him before you took the shot!
Just not right trying the almighty Indian thing!
    Don't do it...
Stop the deer at that point (yell if you have too!) and be ready to pull the trigger!

If not make sure and tell those guys combining.
    They may have some info.
And he may be in the standing corn if still there!

I only live about 15-20 minutes from Harvard if you need any help on Saturday. Working right now so can't help today, but give me a shout if you need some help Saturday. I will not expect a call as you hopefully have already found him!!!
