This has been a strange year for me and my trail cameras. I am yet to get a picture of a doe. Not one single doe. Anywhere. It's either been coyotes, raccoons or bucks. 2 weeks ago I decided to get a new camera, the Truth Cam 46. Here's the first pictures with it. A couple of these are decent bucks, but nothing great. This first picture is just to show the trigger speed of the camera. This is the first picture the cam took, and Primos brags a 1.5 second trigger speed when the camera is 'asleep.' The camera was definitely asleep for this picture. Pretty good. Got a moving tractor dead center of the picture. Ok, the next is a 4 pointer I'm getting pictures of all over the place. I've got another camera on a different part of the farm, and he's showing up in front of that one regularly as well. Gonna be a good buck in the future I think. This next one is really cool. Really narrow and I can't wait to see him next year. This one is a really nice 6 pointer. I think he's only 2 years old at best too, so next year he should be a really nice buck. This may be the biggest 6 I've seen .
mobow, Would you recomend that camera as good buy? I see they retail for only around $130...seems like a great price for a decent performing camera...I normally pay like $200 for the bushnells
I've been waiting to see some photos from the The Truth cam since since I saw them advertised. Not to shabby. Thanks for posting up.
So far I would, yes. I posted the first picture because one of the biggest concerns we have is trigger speed. This is the very first set of pictures I've ever gotten on a game cam that had ZERO blank pictures. None. I'm still playing with the camera and it's settings. I wasn't thrilled with the IR 'flash' of some of the pics I got, but I can change that setting and improve that as well. LOL...to quote the comercial, "Simple to set up and use Wilbur!" is absolutely correct. Very user friendly, and very adjustable. I think I'm gonna get another one of these and utilize some different settings, but so far, I think this camera is an incredible value. But I've only had it 2 weeks. It's longevity is yet to be determined.
Good pics I was talking to a Primos rep at Cabelas Archery classic and he said the feedback has been great. Hopefully it stays that way. And from these pics it confirms that IR cams or Flash cams can spook deer. Those young bucks know that thing is there. I never understood why many guys say IR don't spook deer. Those deer don't look spooked but they know it's there and some deer could get spooked just like the flash. That camera looks to be a great buy.
that's exactly why most don't waste the extra money on ir. if you're worried about the cams spooking game the only viable solution is to crank up the amount of time between photos.
if you dont mind i just bought the new truth cam 60 it cost me 180 or something like that but ill post pics on here tom but i dont think it was worth the money for it
Truth Cam 46 I also got 2 of theses and like he says, I'm happy with the pics and the colour and all the stats that are shown. I'll have these out next Sunday,I'll then be able to determine if the 2 bucks over 180 made it through the winter . Hopefully I'll have some pictures to post. Rocky
glad to see this post, i just put my tc46 out yesterday. and it is user friendly. hope its still there when i go to check it. its on public land. one of the reasons i bought a "cheaper" camera. i did do a d.i.y. security box for it, and screwed it to a tree. so if someone wants to steal it, they'll have to work hard for it. but glad to see it is working well for you.
Agree with both of you some what. You can still get an IR with no lights. Their the cats meow If you ask me. Good luck with the cam Don. Them are some great quality night pics!!
I have had a Truth Cam 46 for about 3 weeks, and I am still on the first set of batteries. It has taken well over 1000 pictures on the highest settings for everything. I am very pleased with this camera, even more than the Cuddeback I just bought a week ago. I would definitely recommend this camera
i couldnt be happier with mine the battery life is really good and uses 4 batteries as opposed to my moultrie that uses 6 and it lasts longer than my moultrie, i have the truth cam 60 not the 46 and if your curious about pic quality go to the trail cam section and look under massachusetts deer thread
I haven't had it long enough, nor has it taken enough pictures yet, for me to be able to make any determination on battery life. I like the cam well enough, though, that I ordered a second one.
