I don't really name the bucks I hunt. I mainly just say "the one with the split brows" or call them by my guesstimate of there antlers, like "I saw that "130 inch 8 pointer" or "hopefully this morning that 170 inch buck will come in."
I just ask them what their name is. Don't you have any social skills? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Name the current 9 pointer I will be after LowenBrow as a play off Lowenbrau beer and because his rack has no height before the brow tines. The second is another 9 pointer that I didn't see until after last years rifle season and at first thought he was LowenBrow, until I noticed the odd point was on the opposite side. So I named him Mirror Image.
I don't name very many. Generally only my target bucks and I just name them something that is descriptive. Last years was Tallboy because of how tall his rack was. The year before was 5x3 because he had a busted G2 and was 5 on one side and 3 on the other.
I let my boys name mine. The one that I have been chasing for a while was named when my boy was 7. I told him that you usually name them after a characteristic of their antlers. This was a heavy 8 with a big kicker/drop off his g2. What did my boy come up with? JOEY. I just went with it and Joey is still on the loose. lol
Since I rarely if ever see the same buck twice, I just call them bucks. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
