New and introduced for the first time this year at the SHOT show in Vegas is the PakLite Field Master Kit. Taking all your favorite PakLite knives such as the 3.5” skinning blade, 2.5” Modified caping knife and the 4” overall gut hook and combined them into a lightweight bundle weighing in at only 12 oz. The sheath allows you to take out the liners and sanitize them when needed. This is a nice feature after field dressing your kill. Besides holding your PakLite knives the sheath has two zippered compartments for extra storage. The sheath itself can be washed with scent elimination laundry detergent once the liners have been removed. To top this off, this is another American made product from Buck. Each of these knives comes with a great cutting edge ready to go to work. This combination eliminates any need to take additional knives or take up more space in your pack with the adjustable belt strap. Or, I thought you can also attach it to your pack as well. Made from quality medium carbon 420HC stainless steel and hardened by Paul Bos of Buck Knives considered to be one of the best in the field. The knives themselves feel great in your hand and though made of stainless steel these knives have a great grip and have a surgical edge straight from Buck. This pack will be in my backpack come deer season this year and if I am fortunate enough to take a deer I look forward to using this kit to field dress my deer.
