We've owned our farm for 3 years now and have worked hard to manage it for deer and turkeys. We've established food plots and done extensive timber stand improvement. For the first two years I didn't see any book bucks. Things have begun to change. 5 days into the season this guy came under my tree stand along with two young bucks. I was able to make a good shot and he only traveled about 60 yards. Although we could have found him by ourselves, my wife brought my tracking dog I've trained for a few years to my stand. He quickly found the arrow and then the buck. I was so proud of him. The 6x5 4 year old buck field dressed 220 lbs and gross scored 156 4/8", unofficial of course. I feel very fortunate to have taken this nice buck and believe it's some payback for the effort I've put into the farm over the past few years.
That's a great buck for sure. Congrats on the buck and all your hard work. Blessings........Pastorjim
Great buck. It's nice to see all the hard work that you put into a pice of land and all the wildlife management practices pay off. Congrats on the nice buck and I hope you make many more memories on your farm. Keep on farming for wildlife.
