Had an awesome morning this past Saturday. Got in the stand an hour before light, and it was cold. Just as the sun was coming up, had a doe slowly making her way by at about 50 yards through some thick brush, no shot. About 20 minutes later, a decent 8 pt was following her scent trail, again no shot. I busted out a couple long grunts at him, he looked for a bit, but kept going. Just then, I hear branches breaking behind me. I turn, and about 60 yards away, on a field edge, is this bruiser tearing up a sapling. Seems my grunting really has him pissed! He makes a scrape, then beats up another sapling, making his way along the edge. Suddenly, he turns into the woods and is passing me at about 35 yards. I ranged him and drew back, but he turns down a trail and is heading my way! I let down and wait. He's directly downwind and I'm thinking, this is never gonna happen. Well, he never caught my scent, and I drilled him at 15 yards! 13 points and a huge body. I usually drag all my deer out myself, but I don't think I would have been able to on this tank! Me and my pops (he's 77), had a helluva time just getting him in the truck. Luckily, he died at the field edge. Tineacious!!
Again, Fred ... HUGE Congrats on a once in a life time buck! Everytime I look at that slob, I laugh at how big that sucker is!! Dude ... that thing is awesome!
Fred, no joke buddy. . . that's an absolute HOSS. Big slap on the back bro. Congrats. Big time congrats.
Awesome feat there Great body ,looks like you fed him well,LOL congrats on a great buck .Nice to be able to share it with your dad! Rocky
That was the best part Rocky. He was hunting about 1/2 mile away w/crossbow. I called him and left him a message, that I killed a huge doe and needed help. When he pulled up with the truck, and I held this buck up, man you want to talk about hugs and high fives. It was truly awesome! Thanks so much everyone, I still get the shakes when I think about it
