Shot this guy around 5:45 Saturday evening at 27 yds w my Martin Firecat. Only second buck I have ever taken. Only been huntin since 07 though. Once I was settled n my stand I realized I had forgotten all my calls except my snort wheez which I had n my pocket from my last hunt. A few does came in around 5:40 and sniffed around a bit n went around the bend of the hill. About 5 min later I heard a deer walking up the hill to my left. I was pretty sure that it was a buck. Seems that's how it goes this time of yr. Sure enough. Once I could see through the brush this guy showed himself. He worked a scrape about 50yds up the hill in front of me. He started to walk away but I hit him w my snort wheez n he stoped n looked back. But then he turned and started walkin away. So I hit him w it again. This time he stopped and turned around. About 20 sec later he started down the hill and offered me a 27yd shot a lil quartered toward me. He ran about 30 yds n fell over. I knew then he was mine. I was one happy bowhunter dancing n the woods all by myself. Had to call my brother to come help me drag him out. He was about 200 lb.
