Just pulled a card from a new property today. Lots of doe and some fawns. Moved the cameras into a few new locations with lots of traffic. Lookin forward to the next pull!

Pulled one card today. It's nice to see this guy still showing up, we will see what happens when the velvet comes off.

Had a little fun at a 3D course, getting ready for the trip to Wyoming. I "ruined" my buddy's arrow and he almost returned the favor. I shoot the blazers and he shoots the standard fletches. The Ibex was at 48 yards and the bear was at 37. I've been shooting at 50 and 60 yards for the practice. I hope my shots are within 30 :) [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Well gents weekend #2 was fun but no bucks hit the dirt. The only legal buck I saw was a spike/fork I nicknamed "Spork". His fork isn't even as big as your fingers making the "peace sign" but he was fun to look at. Got some cool video of a smaller 1.5 year old with about 5 inch spikes still in velvet. He circled around me and came within 7 yards of me. He was funny! Just kept looking at me wondering what the heck I was. I don't know if he'd ever seen a human before or smelled one so it was almost like a little pet for a bit.

No hunting this weekend. We rented a beach house with some friends south of Monterrey for Labor Day. Will be a great weekend and then back at hunting for the final week of Archery only season. I'll still have the general season after that and things could change with gun hunting opening so I'm really hoping some deer get shook up and move around. When I left my dad's house this afternoon, he said, "Well look at it this way, it can't get any worse". I had to agree with him and hopefully it won't. Good luck everyone!!!

Bad pic. But this is the wide buck I've been watching, I bet he will go 24 inches inside. Both are bigger than anything I've ever killed.

Jedi, sounds like a fun day for you. Getting out there with a bow in your hand is pretty sweet no matter what you see. Bear, that is a really nice looking deer. Have you seen him before? Any idea how old he is?

New bucks as far as I can tell. Last year I had 3 pics in velvet of the one with all the mass, then nothing the rest of the season. This year the majority of the property is planted in corn and he is on two different cams every time I've checked them. Hopefully he will stick around this year.

pic from last year. Same deer?

    This year....

The antlers don't look the same at all. The junk in the front from the first year isn't there and the points on off the main beams look more curved than they do this year. I think it's two different bucks but I could be wrong.

I agree, they look vastly different but I'm no biologist. :)
