Thanks Rocky. We have a long season here in Ohio and it doesn't close until feb 5th. Still holding out hope for a buck until the end!
Congrats on the doe Bear. Never too late to fill a tag. I have two more weeks but honestly don't think I'll get out to hunt. I have not seen a buck after the first of December in my area; they just go nocturnal. I hunt big woods and there is no agriculture so deer eat acorns all winter. Hard to find a feeding area since the feed everywhere they go. Hope you all have a great new year.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. Headed back to NJ the end of January for a 5-7 day stint. Looking for a sausage doe and of course any nice bucks. Hoping to bring my 11yr old daughter so she can get her first deer. VT is all done for the season. Good luck everyone that is still out there.
Hey guys! Just realized how long it's been since I've seen how things are going. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year! Looks like a few more deer went down so that's good news and congrats! I'm already looking ahead to turkey season. Can't wait!!! Opens 3/25 here. By the way I put together some videos of my whitetail hunt in Canada on my YouTube channel if anyone is interested in watching. Thanks and hope everyone is doing well. HillbillyJedi88 - YouTube
Hey Jedi, nice video but I never saw your buck and the last video was deleted. looks like you saw a fair number of deer. Does anyone know when the scores will be updated?
Clinton How the heck did you get through the "booner decoys" interview without falling over laughing?
Guys, Sorry I havent been on here in a while. Im going to try and get my deer back from taxi. this week and score it again. I lost my dam score sheet that I had put together. Bear, It was very difficult to get through that interview but it was fun. Overall this year was the most fun Ive ever had at the ata. Changing the format to an interview style really helped out the interviews and the content witch was presented.
Clinton, I thought you did a really good job with your interviews. It was pretty neat checking out all the interviews from a bunch of hunters not accustomed to doing something like that. Good work.
It's coming down to the wire here for me to get a buck. We finally got a little snow and colder tempts here in Ohio. Im out today and tomorrow to try and get it done. Clinton, Good job on the interviews I enjoyed watching.
Hey guys. Back at it tomorrow morning in NJ. This will be my last week to hunt whitetails this season. Will be in the stand tomorrow morning, then in the blind with my daughter for the afternoon. My hope is to get Grace her first deer ever. She's really excited. Been a great season and I'm just happy to be sitting in the woods with a bow in hand one more time.
Good luck VT whitetail! It's been a long year for me and my apologies to the team for drawing a BIG goose egg this year. I guess everyone has one but it still stinks to get skunked with the bow. At any rate I've enjoyed the company and making some new friends. Once I retire, I'll blow this stink hole of a state and head back to the land of the giants in the mid west somewhere. Good luck to everyone the rest of the year and may the fall of 2017 bring us all a booner! Less than 2 months for spring turkey season here and can't wait. Hope to have you all as team mates for the turkey contest. I saw a few this fall that may have a beard dragging the ground this spring!
Well guys, that's it for me this year. Finished out my last hunt in NJ this past Friday. We accomplished our goal for the week and my 11yo daughter Grace harvested her first ever deer. Talk about excited!!! I had a great season, lots of great memories and a freezer full of venison. Happy to have spent it with this team, we had a good run and some good conversation. See ya all next season!!
I don't think so. I know it wouldn't have put us in the top three but I'd rather finish in 4th or 5th instead of what we finished. No worries though. I had a great season and a good time with the contest again. See you guys next season!
