Congrats on the kills everyone. Looking good. We have been on some good ones just haven't got a shot opportunity yet. It will come just trying to be patient. Score card looks great and its great to be on a good team. Good luck everyone and stay safe.

So here's my update for the last few sits. I've lowered my goals already lol. I had my sights set on a couple of different 4-5 year olds but I'm going to be realistic. The property I hunt is surrounded by houses and the deer see a lot of pressure. I had an encounter Sunday evening with a nice 3 year old that I thought I would originally pass but after seeing him from the stand I will take him if I get the chance. I had him at 50 yards but couldn't grunt at him because I had a small 2 year old 8 point directly under my stand. Hopefully it will all come together. Here is the 3 year old I was talking about.

Hey guys, checking in. Congrats on the kills. Jedi, I hope you have an awesome hunt in Canada. Love the rack on your deer Hardwoods. Looks like some of you have nice deer on camera. I had a 140 inch buck at 10 yards on Saturday morning but never had a clear shot. Saw two other shooters just out of range. Only saw three deer the entire weekend and they were shooter bucks. Hope to connect this weekend. Get'em boys, we're doing well. KILL DOES! :)

Agreed JGD, KILL a DOE while looking for a bruiser. And everyone doesn't have to shoot a 140" buck. It's about the hunt for me, not necessarily the size of the antlers. Have fun and get it done!

JGD and Vermont are right, DOES DOES DOES...they add up on the score card! I might get out this weekend, I have one more buck tag and two more doe tags left. Going to need to kill some time before duck season starts why not try to get on another buck! Late season does are always fun also!

    Good luck everyone!

I have cameras out but nothing to talk about. Nothing of size just that same 140 6x6 and a few smaller ones thats after checking my came yesterday. I'm thinking it's still not the rutt yet. I haven't seen any chasing ,nothing. Usaly they chase the does out onto the field. My best 2 weeks up here normally is the last 2 weeks of November. Took the day off today.

Out with my son, James, this weekend for youth deer weekend. No bows. He's packing a 20ga slug gun. My oldest son is taking my daughter, Grace, out. She's packing a .243. Headed back out to the blind in a few for the afternoon sit. Good buck sign in the area and excellent overall deer sign. Hope we can get them on a deer. James is 9 and Grace is 11. Hope everyone is out there. Rut seems to be kicking in in the mid Atlantic states. Still pre rut here in VT, rubbing scraping and chasing just starting.

Charles Alsheimer's prediction is for a little later rut than normal based on the moon phase. Maybe that's he case. Get out when you can, don't want to miss it.

Vermont, I hope your kids have a great hunt. Good luck!

Top pic is a crappy pick of a tall 8 I almost got a shot at.

Bottom pic is my big 8 from the trail cam pics.. finally seen him from a tree. Tried to call him in.. 70 yrds was the best I could do. He eventually got bored with me and walked off.. what an exciting encounter tho.

Headed out again this morning. Yesterday I saw 6 different bucks. I passed the 3 year old I thought I'd shoot. He was walking away and responded to my grunts and came to the base of my tree. Let's hope this morning is just as good. Good luck guys. KILL!!
