Please share your experiences with this product. The spray dispersion feature seems like an efficient method of dispensing scent down wind.
The dispersion is a good approach because the mist will in fact make more surface contact on all the blades of grass, leaves, tree trunks and such it is sprayed on...never used it as if I use urine scents it's always frozen...save for this year I'll be trying some of the doe in heat stuff that puts out the evercalm sticks which I had good luck with last year.
I used it last year. First off, it went off in my pants pocket, so I smelled like deer piss the rest of the night. I'm glad I didn't get jumped on the way back to my vehicle, lol! Secondly, after dispersing the rest, I didn't see any deer.
IMHO they are a waste of $5 if you lock and toss. If you want to use them to just spray every now and again in the air or on tree trunks, they have there value.
My only experience ever was when a 5 year old set one off inside the archery department of Bass Pro and then ran off. Man did that place stink! Was pretty damn funny though!
I Only Use It In5 Second Bursts. My 142 Inch Buck Came Running In From Down Wind Not 5 Min After Spraying
Thanks for all the info my friends. A 142 inch buck would work for me! Cablebob That $5 dollar price is half as much as Bass Pro is asking. I found it for $8 on Cheaper than dirt. I need to load up on scent free soaps and scents before the 14 Sept, opener. Please share any links or info to a cheaper source for this product?
that stuff might work but i never had much luck with scent attractants, the only thing i use is evercalm on the bottom of my boots and around the base of my tree and i've had better luck with that than anything
I don't like spraying it all at once. I will spray it on my trail as I walk in and then every so often when I am in stand. It just seems to loud when you spray the entire can and I feel like your not getting your money out of it.
Theisens (farm store) in Cedar Rapids, Ia had the Hunters specialties aerosol cans on sale for that the other day. I haven't found the actual "buck bomb" for less than $8 anywhere. But I don't buy them either.
Never tried the spay but have tried the scrap generator cloth with great success. I had bucks within hrs making a scrape under it and they kept coming back to check it for days.
Going to pick some up tomorrow and try to get a test in at the local forest preserve before leaving for the opening weekend. Will try to film the interaction from a blind.
Used the Acorn Rage scent last night. Just did it for the five second burst. No deer. Not saying that was the reason or not. I will probably use again to see the results.
I didn't have any luck with it the couple times I tried it, infact I saw less deer than I normally would. Not saying that the buck bomb was the cause, but it certainly didn't help. I hunt WAY too much to be able to use something like that frequently, so I stick scent killer and cover scents, and save the doe piss for the rut.
that's kinda where i stand with scent attractants, never saw more deer using them than not using them, i think being not detected at all and let the deer be in their natural environments with no added scents is the best thing
