When you guys turkey hunt with archery tackle from you blinds do you brush them in or just throw them up wherever? I was thinking of just throwing it up in the corner of a field with some dekes 20 yards out. Any suggestions?

I wouldnt think a guy would need to brush one in. I think as long as its not flapping around in the wind, you should be good to go w/ the turks. Heck last night I watched a show (I know that this doesnt make it gospel) and they stuck a blind right out in the widest open area they could find so the turks could see the decoys better.

You really don't need brush it in. My cousin killed one last spring out of his blind in the middle of a plowed field in Kansas:huh: :moose:

In PA, I'm brushing it in, in other states, I'm just throwing it out where ever.

Have you ever seen the double bull vidoes?? They throw those things up anywhere. I remember one hunt they had three blinds in the middle of a field!!

Two years ago, I shot my bird in the middle of two blinds in the middle of a food plot. I don't have time to brush them in!

A lot of the videos I've seen just have the blind sitting there with no brush or anything. In a lot of cases you don't really even have time to brush it in unless you already know where the turkeys are going and they come to you. I don't think they really pay that much attention to it.

I'm curious as well. Are PA birds the Einstein of the turkey world?

I've had turkeys that are very leery if my blind sticks out too much. For instance, last year we had are fescue sprayed and the grass was light tan in color. My blind is real tree camo and those birds didn't like it. After I left I brushed it up and went out the next weekend and knocked one down. It could be just a coincidence but it worked for me.
