Hey guys, a new guy to the archery world. I inherited a Browning Mirage TC and I'm not sure of the year. The string is broke and was looking to get her fixed up. It looks like it's in good shape just from a new guys perspective. I do know it has a 7" octane stabilizer, a top gun 3 pin, a hostage rest. Was just looking for any help on if this set up sounds good and if I would have to contact PSE since I heard they have browning archery now to get information on year and string length. I appreciate any help or information.

    Thanks
    johnny

Probably should post this on the tech talk page as you may get more replies. Sorry I don't know squat about older Brownings

Got it restrung today. The archery shop was guessing around 2009. If anyone happens to know how I could track the original date I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for the reply. Would y'all happen to know of a decent string stop. Not wanting to spend 60 bucks for a stop.

Not necessary but if you look on ebay there are lots of universal ones out there for < $60

Just a fyi before you spend a ton of money. Is your eye correct for the bow? Does the draw length fit you?
Chances are decent they may be off. Don't by any means wanna burst your bubble. If bow doesn't fit properly Itll be tough to shoot accurately

Nice looking older bow. It still has a lot of years of service left in it.

Be sure to get the draw length and weight adjusted to fit you. You will be glad that you did.

That bow has a brace height that's just shy of 8". A string stop really isn't needed. Adding one may help to quiet the bow a little but I don't think you will notice any difference in speed, accuracy, or likelihood of the string slapping your arm.

    Welcome to the addiction.
