I'd like to kill bigger than my personal best as well. We ALL want to improve.

Incidentally guys, my name is Johnny. I'm retired Navy (24 1/2 years) and I've been working at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital since I retired in 2008.

I'm excited about the Kentucky early season but I'll have to miss the opening weekend on 03 September. I had a pacemaker implanted on the 12th of this month and the doctor said I couldn't shoot my bow or climb for four weeks.

I had some issues with irregular heartbeats during and after running, so we went this route to try to fix it. Looks like the 10th of September will be a busy day. My first sit of the year and my first run after a four week break.

We want you to kill one also.
Thank You VERY much for your service and for working at St. Judes!!!! Take care of that heart. That is the important part of this season.

Since we are starting to talk best deer let's bust them out. Mine came on 11/4/2009, he came in following a doe that was being chased by a smaller buck. I hit him great, he went about 40 yards staggered and went down. I sat quiet for a few minutes then started to "quietly" put my gear in my pack and he jumped up and ran down into a deep creek and back up the other side and piled up in a downed tree on the field edge about 75 yards from my truck. It was like he came "back to life" just to keep me from hauling his big butt out of the woods. He scored 152 and change.

And yes, I just want to kill a deer this year too!

My biggest buck with a bow so far really wasn't that big. Got him in November 2014 and we went 124 3/8". I was pretty excited to get him, though.

I'd like to try filming hunts but I'm more focused on trying to get a bigger buck first.. And the expense of cameras turn me off a bit. Must be really cool to watch your hunt over and over again though but when I kill a deer that replay is in my head forvever

    Those a great deer!

In our avatar, I'm the squirrel on the back pulling the rabbits. I have to be the squirrel.

I film most of my hunts. If you want to check them out my channel on youtube is wibowhntr1. Some are on public land and others on private. I started filming in 2011 after I missed a giant and then had him stand guarding a doe 75 yards away for an hour.

By the way my name is Travis. This is my biggest buck that I have killed. Shot him on Nov 1st 2012. He is a 3.5 yr that scored 150 3/8".

I missed my biggest buck last year on Nov 6th and a guy a couple miles down the road shot him 2 days later. Here is a trail cam pic that we had of him:

Exactly. Just north of OU. Beautiful country for sure, and a different bread of folks haha. My family is one of a kind for sure.

It's funny. When I was young my folks were known as Mr. & Mrs Carter. Everyone thought my last name was Carter.
