I didn't see anything while hunting. On my way there a big 2.5 11 pointer chased two does across the road in front of me.

I'm just not seeing rutting activity where I'm hunting.. checked the trail cam I have a group of 7 does in broad daylight then I'm catching bucks at night.. I don't think it's going on there yet.. I've seen smaller bucks running around while driving but almost no rut action while hunting

The rest of the hunt was a bust as well. My buddy had 2 good bucks in the field late and said that they hung out together with does in the field as well. No sign of rutting activity from the bucks other than a little scent checking.

10+ hours in the stand today was brutal. Temps hit the upper 70s and no movement at all on my side made for a long afternoon. I hate to say it but I'm a little burnt out, to many bust sits in a row. I hope to hunt Sunday morning with my daughter. That will be her first real serious trip to the stand. Hopefully she can tough it out for few hours.

Well I was on my way home and as I was taking a right bend at about 40mph it was just there. Didn't have time to brake or swerve.

You need a thermacell. This is my first year having one and buddy that thing works! Couldn't believe it. Normally we have enough mosquitos in our swamps to carry your butt away. Turn that thermacell on and the mosquitos seize to exist.

Oh no doubt. I actually have 2 of them. I was in a hurry to get home and get to the stand. Since we moved I'm not sure where all the parts are at for both of them.

Back in the blind this morning. 36° and very light breeze. And so far nothing. My son in law watched a small buck work a scrap..

I'm in the stand this morning. Had a nice 2-1/2 year buck wall under me at gray light. Just had a doe with a yearling buck trailing walk by at about 40 yards.
Don't have a range finder anymore because my backpack fell in the water on Wednesday. Or I would of shot the doe.

Unfurtnatly it was not a clean kill. Me and 2 officers looked for 5min and it was open land for about 50yds and we didn't find anything. He was a very nice buck that I would have taken with the bow. I will be back out on a full day sit on Sunday.
