You won't regret making a wise decision! Takes a lot of maturity to pass a heck of a buck like that when the shot isn't ideal! Well done! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My morning hunt went well guys. I saw a buck through thick brush and he looked NICE. I thought I could turn him with a grunt but he didn't pay any mind. He had me shaking in the stand. I wasn't able to see how big he was or how many tines but he had enough rack that I could see it at 100 yards through brush with just my eyes. My wife met me at 10 and we hunted until 1. We didn't see anything before we started discussing when to leave. I told her I could hang a new set and then we could go eat, so as we're getting down one blows out from behind us. DANGGIT! She wanted to see a deer so bad she was willing to sit another hour. It was my decision to get down...in still kickin myself. I love how excited she gets when she sees deer. I had to go and mess it up. Next time! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I just want to know how you found a girl like that hahaha I'm still searching for one that even hunts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They're out there! Especially where you're from. You gotta find you a farmers daughter haha. All my cousins are from Ohio and like to hunt. My wife loves the outdoors and loves animals, so hunting is perfect for her. She also doesn't believe animals are like Disney movies hahaha that's a key to look for. Too has salt to your wound, she hates to shop! Pretty sure I found the only woman in history like that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm now 46. I met my wife at 36. She is the outdoor fanatic!! Loves to hunt, farm, fish, you name it. Just be patient Andrew. Explore your options. My wife killed a deer the first year we were together. Now she is in to bow hunting. Woo Hoo!!!
Wife's like yours and mine are a dime a dozen and WELL worth the wait! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lucky dog!!! I got into hunting because of my wife's family but she doesn't hunt lol!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My wife is a vegetarian, but she loves to hunt. She is a complicated woman. Over the years she has harvested several animals but she is yet to get a deer. She bow hunted with me for a couple years but kids quickly got in the way, I think she would like to get back into it when she is able. I'll be doing an all day hunt tomorrow, weather cooled off today and a small low is pushing through. I wish could be out there today but a have a couple meetings. The morning is supposed to start off in the 30s and finish in the 60s. My window is starting to close a bit so hopefully something is moving. Rifle starts the 12th, this typically pushes everything nocturnal and it gets nearly impossible to get a shot from there on.
Well my vacation that was supposed to start Friday has been pushed back yet again... heading to Pennsylvania Friday to spend time with some family, coming home Sunday then going on my trip lol and nothing will stop me! Then Monday-Friday I'll be in the woods.. not sure about Saturday or Sunday yet let's hope I get a buck by then Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm still alive, guys. I've been hunting off and on. I've watched some smaller bucks and does walk by. I couldn't get a shot at a doe to save my life during the early season. Now that I'm not willing to take the shots they're walking by like it's no big deal at all. Figures. My 10 day trip to Missouri starts this weekend. My son-in-law and I will be headed out on Sunday.
My wife doesn't hunt but I can't complain. She supports me hunting any time I want. I'm colorblind and she has helped me blood trail quite a few deer. She's really good at it, too. She helps me field dress them on occasion and helps me process them too. She's actually become quite good at the processing part. I was hunting in Missouri a few years ago and I killed a buck the opening morning of gun season. She knew I didn't really want to leave camp that early so she offered to make the four hour drive to pick the deer up and take it to a processor back home. I didn't let her do it, of course. Still, she offered and she meant it.
We will be in Mark Twain National Forest about 15 minutes southwest of Van Buren, MO, just a couple miles off of Highway C. It has evolved into a great place to hunt. *** changed it to southwest ***
Sounds like you have a great wife as well!!! Good Luck down there. It is supposed to finally be cooler towards the end of the first week of gun season.
My wife doesn't hunt . But she supports me and encourages me to go. We all love venison. She goes with me sometimes and likes to video tape my hunts. She help process the deer after the kill too!
I'm "tweaking" my vacation schedule. I'm planning on working next Monday and Tuesday then taking off the rest of the week and the following Monday and Tuesday. Hopefully this will all pan out.
