Keep putting the time in the stand, it's only a matter of time before they make the deadly mistake!

Andrew that is all over the board for me. Sometimes good, sometimes nothing. I usually just tickle them together.

I grunt call and snort wheeze for about 30s then rattle for about a min. Some days it works like yesterday and other days like 2day it didn't. The way I see it is I have nothing to loose

I've never had any luck rattling. Grunting is the only thing I've had success with. But if I were to try it again, like others suggested I would tickle the antlers more so than be aggressive.

If the deer realized how lucky they'd be if they responded to my call they might come to it more often......

Finding a spot on the maps to hunt the public land next week is not easy... I have 2 spots on two different public lands I'm for sure going to hunt. but this place is so damn hilly I don't even know where to start lol

Start at the top. It is easier to walk down the hill instead of up.

Yep, I'm having one of "my" days.

I know, I know. Everyone like a little a$$ but no one likes a smarta$$.

Well after 2day I will have 4 full day hunts and 4 am hunts left before rifle season opens. So plenty of sits, just wish the weather would cool down.

What public are you planning on hunting? My families land is really close to tar hollow and THAT son of a gun has some steep ravines and hollows.

Well no points for the team tonight but I did kill my first turkey with a bow. Have killed them with a shotgun before but never any luck bowhunting so I'm pretty excited about that.[IMG]

    That is awesome!
I believe I've killed 3 with a bow. Not to mention I've shot about 4 dozen arrows at them dang things over my time bow hunting. Imagine the broadheads I would've saved.

Look for a spot 1/3 of the way down from the top on the leeward side.

Hang in there. We're not going anywhere. Get better then get after it! It's starting to heat up a little around here!
I don't blame ya a bit for waiting. That would be miserable dragging a deer feeling like that.
