Tried last night to take my son, he's 20 and works 2 jobs and goes to school, out to hunt. He was pumped, as you can imagine he doesn't have a lot of time and we've had this planned for a few days. We loaded up and were about 5 miles down the road towards hunting when his phone rings, it is his second job, someone didn't show up and they need him in right away. I was proud of him, he didn't hesitate to say he'd be in as soon as he could. We turned around and headed back towards town. We were both disappointed but ultimately I was impressed that he takes enough ownership in a part time job to feel like he needed to go help out. Can't say I would have done that at his age. He came home saying that his boss is now giving him Sunday afternoon off so I needed to clear my schedule so we could go hunting. Deal Son, Deal!

Went out hunting Thursday afternoon. Sat on the edge of a new seeded alfalfa field and only saw four deer...none in range. From where I was sitting I could see a little bit of a cut corn field and could see some deer out there. So I got down a little early and went to the top of the hill to see the whole cut corn field. Here there was 20-30 deer out in the cut corn so I guess I picked the wrong spot that night. Looks like there is another cold front coming next Thursday so I will probably be back out then. I did see that a lot of scrapes were starting to open up. Just about that time boys!!!

Well no hunting for me the next 10 days since I'll be back at work!!! But on a positive note I did have a buck show back up that I thought was dead because I had pictures of him all summer up tell the middle of October then not a single picture or sighting of him tell just last week!!! Not a massive deer but an old brute for sure!!![IMG]

Looks like I will be able to get out on a all day sit on Wednesday or Thursday. I will keep you guys up dated closer to the time. I'm cutting down on my side work so I can get more hunts in.

Made it out to the woods yesterday afternoon but neither of us saw anything. It was a little warm and windy so we didn't really expect much. I am going to go check out a new property tonight, a buddy of mine bought 80 acres not far from my office that he said is mine to hunt. Haven't set foot out there yet but I love the area, hoping we find some sign.

I'm off to Vegas for work in a couple days, probably try to get a hunt in Sunday and then leave for SD on Tuesday. Be back on Friday and then start hunting hard until the orange army takes over on the 12th.

sorry guys. been very busy getting everyone's rigs finished before the end of the month. been in the 80's and 90's here. to hot to sit. got a good cool down coming after wed. since i lost over 75% of my deer traffic last week I am moving my camera tonight to see what is on the back fence line. its about 80 yards past where i have been getting most of my pics. I have seen a few does travel thru there so i figure why not see what there that i have not seen yet.
